what this means

NCAA cleared, in plain terms

The NCAA reviews online schools before it will accept their coursework toward college eligibility. Uplift has been through that review. Here is what that does and does not mean for your student.

Our courses count

Uplift offers NCAA-approved core courses, so the work your student does here can be applied toward college eligibility.

Your schedule is yours

Coursework is available all day, every day. Training blocks, travel weekends, and competition seasons do not have to cost you a semester.

Clearance is still individual

Being an NCAA cleared school means our courses qualify. Each student still has to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center and meet the requirements themselves.

16

core courses

The requirement for Division I and II

Division I and II athletes must complete 16 NCAA-approved core courses to be eligible to compete. Every one of those courses needs to be on the approved list, and they need to be finished on schedule — which is why planning early matters more than catching up later.

common questions

What families ask us first

Is Uplift really an NCAA cleared school?

Yes. Uplift Michigan Online School has been reviewed and cleared by the NCAA, and we offer NCAA-approved core courses.

How many courses do I need?

Division I and II athletes must complete 16 NCAA-approved core courses to be eligible to compete. Our counselor will show you which of ours count and in what order to take them.

When should I start planning?

As early as you can, ideally freshman year. Core course requirements are cumulative, so the earlier the plan exists, the less catching up there is.

Can I transfer in mid-season?

Families join us at different points in the year. Talk to our team about your transcript and your competition calendar, and we will tell you honestly what is workable.
